    Notes & Combos

Mikanko is a fun blind-second deck which relies on the player determining how to use their plethora of resources to effectively deal with the opponent's board. Knowledge of other decks is required to excel, but it comes with a lot of skill expression. Still, the deck struggles at times. I'm not the best pilot and my decklist isn't perfect yet which made the climb difficult, but it is very doable and wins are quite satisfying, especially since gameplay is more than following combo lines. \\Still, I've found some OTK lines \

    • Kaiju + Double-Edged + Equipped Mikanko/Ohime
    • Kaiju + Ohime + Ha-Re/Mayo/Ceremony. Ohime adds Ceremony if you don't have it or Mayo or Ha-Re if you have Mayo. Then send Mayo or Ha-Re to the GY, summon Ohime, banish Ceremony for either Mayo or Ha-Re. Then summon Ha-Re with Mayo and add Fire Dance to summon out any other Mikanko. You can also use Fire Dance to get out your attack target.

Note that the Kaiju can always be swapped with an opponent's monster that has 2,667+ ATK or, if Double-Edged Sword is not in use, DEF.

    Deck:

    • Mikankos: These ratios are generally used, but Mikanko Rivalry with Angelic Ring for spell negates is a good choice.
    • Herald Package: Not necessary with everything preventing normal summons but it's another starter if your normal is available. I should cycle these out but don't want to because I sank 90 UR into them :D
    • Handtraps: Maxx C, Nib, and Talents/Thrust are the only useful ones. Remember to delay Maxx C because without an opposing monster Mikanko can't do damage. Mikanko has plenty of ways to get the opponent's monsters off the field (Lava Golems/Kaijus) so negates aren't necessary. 2 Kaijus become an Arabesque target or tools to crash and clear the board. Kaiju Slumber is great for clearing multiple monsters and can become a regular Kaiju, but it's easily negated and unnecessary. If you run multiple Talents/Thrust, always run only 1 Talents and more Thrust because the equip spells usually provide more value than Talents, especially if you brick.
    • Hidden Armory: Run 3 with Axe for negates and Double-Edged for OTKS. Metalsilver is an option with Hu-Li for locking down.
    • Pots: Extravagance is the best with Prosperity after it, but they hurt Zeus/Synchro plays. Desires is usable but unfavored.
    • Pick Lightning Storm, Raigeki, or Feather Duster, your choice
    • Extra Deck: Zeus/Synchro packages are good. Charmers, S:P, and Underworld Goddess work, but the Mikanko Extra Deck is inconsequential.
