  Solid lecturer and easy class. Only possible downside is that she very much talks like a therapist, in the calm measured and slow sort of way. If that's not your speed she records lectures so watch 2x. Great for questions and gives a good overview of clinical psych. I wish she covered more ground/more depth but I do so for every prof so far.

  The lectures were super early and over an hour long. They are sometimes boring and slow which makes it easy to fall behind. But the professor is really nice and there are only short quizzes for homework. There is a lot of memorization for the exams, mostly situational so being able to apply concepts are important.

  Nice professor. Grades based on exams, she offered extra credit. Study guides were a bit much but I always got B or A on exams. 25-question exams so if you miss a few your grade drops. Just do the readings and go over lecture. I almost got an A- I was just lazy.

  If you are not a good test taker, don't take this class. The study guide was over 20 pages long for a 25 question exam. I went to lectures, did the readings, took notes and it still ruined my GPA. Exams are closed book, with pretty much no room for error. Content is vague, and exam questions are super precise. Don't recommend.

  I adore her, her ratings before I took the class were terrible and then I was like "why not try", and i'm so happy I did because she is a great teacher and is very helpful. You will learn the material if you show up to class. This is an average "A" "B" class :). NO HOMEWORK! 3 Exams (25Q), "Final" is NOT cumulative.

  Pretty stale lecturer, but an incredibly kind, supportive woman. + study guides are your key to getting an easy A, tests were also pretty straight forward and fair. heavy on term memorizations, but thats to be expected on a psychology class. recommend!!

  Easy A. Lectures are just summaries of the book chapters and are a little boring. She will ask about topics she didn't go over in lecture on exams but they are included in the book. However, she provides an in-depth study guide that will let you know exactly what she's gonna ask. Her tests are easy and she is VERY generous with curves.

  If you just planning to get a class for 4 units, this might be the one. For passing the class you only need to put around two hours of time every week, and do something before the final. Lecture is not mandatory, you can learn all the material online. And the professor do answer email quick, so you can email her any time you have a question.

  Kelly does not deserve a rating of 2.1 at all. The kindest prsn & makes 8am course as accessible as possible online by posting the slides online day before & recording lecs. All you need to do to pass is put in some effort & memorize every term in each lecture (~250per midterm) and itll be easy. final is also optional so i get to go home early! :D

  I am shocked by the low reviews, King is a clear lecturer, gives great feedback, and is very knowledgeable. This class is graded by very few things 3 exams and 1 paper but she makes the expectations very clear and provides study guides. 100% would take King again.

  Professor King is incredibly kind, her lectures provide real life examples that help bring the textbook to life, and the exams are very manageable. Definitely read the textbook and do the practice problems the textbook offers, and you will do fine. Attending lecture helps solidify material learned from the textbook. Overall a good experience for me

  Glad I took professor King's class despite the bad reviews. I learned a lot about Clinical Psychology. There's only 3 exams and 1 small writing assignment. I skimmed the textbook and watched all her lectures. I followed the study guide and it really helps! There is 3 points extra credit for attendance 75% of the time with iclicker.

  Grades were based off 3 exams of 25 questions and a 1 page report. Exams were based off a few chapters of the textbook at a time, and each chapter was about 40-60 pages of reading. Very cut and dry. Lecture is brief recap of small sections of chapters, but not mandatory. Prof is kind and knowledgeable, but this class is a LOT of solo work.

  I was scared to take a class with her due to her ratings but I had a great experience! She's nice and her tests are straight forward if you attend lectures or read. She offers EC for attendance and SONA. If you want to go into a mental health profession she is a GREAT resource. She even lets you role play therapy sessions during office hrs.

  She deserves better ratings, she is sweet and clear. Her lectures are a summary of the textbook chapters so they can get pretty boring but it definitely clears up any concepts and gives examples! Final is optional if you are content with your grade.

  Kelly King is actually a very kind professor who deserves a better rating. Her lectures were based off of the textbook, however listening to her lectures solidified the knowledge from the book. She is very caring about her students and attempts to connect to the class. Her knowledge as both a psychologist and a mother is pretty great
