How many shoe boxes does Operation Christmas Child send each year?
Across the U.S., the project collected over 9.3 million shoebox gifts in 2022. Combined with those collected from partnering countries in 2022, the ministry is now sending nearly 10.6 million shoebox gifts to children worldwide.

Since 1993, God has used Samaritan's Purse to deliver over 200 million Operation Christmas Child shoebox gifts to children in need and disciple 50 million of these boys and girls.
We do not empty and repack your gifts, nor do we remove items from a very full shoebox to help fill another. There are buckets of items at each processing station donated specifically for the purpose of filling shoebox gifts in need of something more.
To make sure your shoebox gift gets to a child of the right gender and age, Samaritan's Purse offers some different label options. Labels also offer a way for you to give the necessary $10 donation per shoebox to provide for collection, processing, shipping, and other project costs.
Some people are not able to give the $10 per shoebox we request for shipping and related costs. By adopting a shoebox, you can partner with them to deliver the Gospel and help "bring salvation to the ends of the earth" (Acts 13:47, ESV).

Here shoeboxes are inspected and prepared for international shipping. Next they travel by plane, truck, or ship to more than 100 countries and territories where local churches distribute the boxes to children in need.
