The Cabarrus County School Board voted unanimously Monday to start classes in early August next year, defying the state's school calendar law and building momentum for what appears to be a regional trend.

Kindergarten Registration for the 2024-2025 school year is open. Children 5 years old on or before August 31, 2024, are eligible to register for kindergarten.

Covers at least nine calendar months. Must have a minimum of 185 days OR 1,025 hours of instruction. Must have at least nine (9) teacher workdays.
